  6. He's a rather gruesome sort, isn't he! He is especially terrifying, because it there is a feeling of transformation; a feeling that perhaps he was once a simple mortal... I love the roughness of this, as if it's been painted as a fresco, and I love the limited palette. It makes the pin dots of the eyes and the points of the teeth stand out. He's so horrible - I think we should fix hm up with Ms. Medusa:>

  8. Of all the monsters I've seen lately, this is certainly the scariest. It is as though you have tapped into my brain, plucked out all of my fears, and translated them onto a page.

YOU ARE THE BEST! You NEVER fail to amaze me with your gifts.

  23. I like that caption. What a great illustration! Scary, and yet I could also picture him picking up a cup of tea and taking a sip. There, though, that may be the influence of your words more so than the picture itself. *G*

The old saying is: THERE COMES AN AGE WHEN ONE OLD ENEMY IS WORTH SIX NEW FRIENDS (and it is true, nothing against the new friends at all ...it is just that an old enemy and you have such a history together... you get so you love em and respect them for hanging in there so long) :))))))

    Ursa,
    Thank you Ursa:)

    Carla,
I hear they have been dating behind our backs... If they had little monsters, would they have snakes or horns on their little pointy heads?!?

Ah, some of you friends are welcome under my bed anytime:))) (you need to be really short to fit though, as it (the bed) sits on the floor... and I'm not in it very often, but you are welcome to have a tea party there if you wish:) just don't leave me the washing up to do. No time to say hello goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.......

    Lou
You are more than welcome, thanks so much for your visit and comment!

Charcoal, and just a hint of pastel.
It is bigger than what I have scanned here(this is just the top half),it won't fit on the scanner as painted.

    Tony

Well the subject was monsters... so I went for the whole enchilada... made it as scary as I could. I've seen scarier, but I think this is about as far as I can go down that path, coward that I am.

  29. But you render 'scary' very well. It is hard conveying emotions of various types. At least, I find it difficult. The subtle nuances that we identity without effort on faces, things....

  30. Thanks Chuang....it really did take me the longest time to get "Scary", spooky I could do...but the real monster thing took some realy reaching.
