Happy Hallowe'en to you too, Lilah. We are currently in the middle of the first big snow storm. I'm hoping for school to be cancelled tomorrow. The students all shouted "NO" when I suggested that. We're having a Halloween party all afternoon tomorrow. 30 wired kids on sugar watching a scarey movie. What fun.

Heehehehe! Lucky you! For years I was the mom that brought the "kiddie crack" and did the Halloween partys for my kids classes. I went all out and I still hear back about how much it meant to the kids.... ahhh to go back in time... :) But I guess memories ... no wait...I have grand kids now...I could saddle up the old broom and ride again!!!!! BwaaaHahahaha!
Boo to you! I love the dark, leafy, wet, scary mood of this painting, especially with the little face glowing out from under the cloak. The carved pumpkin is pretty darn wonderful as well! I hope you have a fun Halloween...we're all by ourselves up on our secluded hill in the dark woods where no children dare venture on this night...good thing, too, because the only treats we have are for the dog!
Booggie booggie boogie to you Albina! I'm here with spiced hot apple cider and a double batch of banana muffins in the oven! I tried to talk my sister into going trick or treating with me... I said we could braid our hair together and go as conjoined twins... she said I was sick. I guess that means no:))))

Adam: Thank you... Clan Wyeth! I remember the first time I saw his father's "Christina's World" as if it was yesterday. My internal clocks stopped and restarted at a different pace. Pyle, N.C., Andrew... to be anywhere near those painter-hems...or part of that concentric circle, makes me shake in my flip-flops.
What a nice loss of edges into the 'fall' feeling you have captured. I like your little pumpkin too. I almost wonder what scary things are lurking in all of those shapes behind the child.
