ReplyDeleteThere are a number of artists who attempt this color rich, haunting form of art. You one of the few that can pull it off. I love your choice of characters. They seem to each have such a story to tell. There is depth and feeling, motion and so much more in each piece. I enjoyed visiting your website. Keep up the great work.

These colors are rich, glowing, and very mysterious. You do such cool stuff with digital paint! I love the combination of scariness and humor you've created. In fact, I almost see this metaphorically (I can't help myself) - he's the person who puts on his "game face" to navigate through the treacherous forest of the modern world. He looks mostly puzzled!

These paintings are all digital? Amazing! You do great work. I especially like your use of lighting/shading to create mood. I do some painting myself but on canvas. And you're thinking, "OMG that is SOOO 20th century!"

Thanks Theresa S., I've noticed this looks better on monitors that aren't set to the brightest setting. If the monitor is at the brightest setting, it looks a bit washed out:(

ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I think Sleepy Hollow is where the inspiration for this character came from.... Chaung asked me about the history behind these and the Headless horseman is all I could think of... that and the antique paper pumpkins of the 40's. I just wondered what they would look like if they were walking around.
