Oh, yes - I'm not surprised that you would choose to portray Georgia O'Keefe, and especially with this qoute. The look you've caught in her eye is both outward and inward. The light around her creates a feeling of otherworldliness in the context of a simple, natural setting. It's transcendental.
The contrast and light are superb. I love graphite portrait drawings. You never disapoint me everytime I visit. Wish you had time to post more but I cherish what I can get.
this is magnificient. unbelievably beautiful.
Very expressive and beautiful!
I've always loved Georgia and her work. She was a real maverick and always did things her own way. And of course her paintings stand alone. Great tribute!
Exquisite! :)
Yes she was. Great work. Cheers!
you are so darn talented pal!!! I love this/her. I read her biography like 12 times when I was young, I would carry it around like a bible. I think she is the shizzle and you too bub!!!
What a beautiful portrait! I have always loved Georgia O'Keeffe's artwork...my favorite has always been Morning Glory with Black. I remember going to see it at the Cleveland Museum of Art when I was a teen...and, fell in love with it then.
This piece shows what a wonderful talent you are! Beautiful!
Oh, boy. Absolutely marvelous drawing… Subject? Well, let us just say that biography reading is full of excellent surprises – what with walking quietly in the soft shoes, not likely. Not even close. Great portrait – do you see her planning on getting into mischief, yet again?
There is a feeling of the strength of character in the woman you have depicted. A fierce intelligence of sorts. You can see it in her eyes.
THis is beautiful!! WOW!! She has the spirit of wisdom and strenght!
One can feel her wisdom...and that look says, I know I have been there long before you...
this is stunning. so are your other pieces. you've really got something special.
'love your pencil work!...wish you had more time for posting, too!
Beautiful artwork. It has delighted and inspired me.
wonderful stuff, both blogs! I stopped by from Cream's Screamers - I'm delighted to find you.
I'll definately be back to spend some time this weekend!
Carla you are such a special person, always looking deeper.
Toni, I'm back... I hated being away, but there was nothing for it, I really liked my job at the newspaper and I miss the people, but I am still sooooo tired even after a couple of weeks. My days of handling that much stress and keeping up with everything are gone forever I'm afraid.
Thank you so much Erika and DeeJay!
Amy I find her as a person to have a spirit that I admire.
Christine Lim Simpson... that is one of my favorite words:)
Thanks Holly!!!
Val... *giggle* you alway give me the best smiles.
TXArtcGal, great tender color in that one. I liked her bones, does that make me a bad person? HEHE!
albina, yes I do actually... the more mischef the merrier!!
Chuang Shyue Chou, fierce, yes! Conviction as strong as faith in the blue sky.
Thank you Alina! What's going on with you lately? Good stuff I hope!
Cream, here's looking at you kid:)
Fenris, thank you...I haven't done anything in weeks and as I read through these comments, I'm encouraged to get back to the old drawing board!

Queen Tut... Have you arrived in your new home? I hope things are going well for you and hope to hear from you again soon.
Hayden, you all come back now, y'hear:) (I've been enjoying your blog too!)
you make such beautiful work, i'm jealous.
Courtney.. as I am of you and your colors and characters!
Have you read Jonathan Strange and Mister Norrell? This image captures the mood of that fabulous book!
No, I had not heard of that book, so I Googled it just now and got a review... any book that has "The Raven King" as a character sounds like my cup of tea!
I'll be looking for this one:) Thanks again Chuang!
Your pencil work here (and elsewhere on your blog) is gorgeous! So many talented people out there in the world...
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
