Hi guys, glad to see your bright eyes and wings around these parts! This year has started off with a bang(good stuff instead of bad)so between project working, slow..s..l...o...w... dial-up
and that drat cold from hell, I've been blognotting!! Tony I spent a relaxing and wonderful hour with my cup of hot tea at your blog this morning. I'm so jealous of how beautiful you make everything!
Nonie...I'll stop by and check out out the birds before the sun comes up again...I promise!

I agree with Anon!

great to see you art! :o)

I think 2008 is going to be a great year!

LDahl said...

Simon! Always a pleasure! I have a list to send to you and Nonymouse.
It's to check and see if you are true Australians. Let me know if you already have it. There are some things that make perfect sense on the list, but other things are very, very strange. :)))

I really like the expression and emotion that you have conveyed in the second portrait from the top. Tell him everything will be fine. x

simon said...

yes please send the list! I have not received it yet!

LDahl said...

Thanks Zooms! I'll let him know:)
Simon, sent the list a few moments ago.

Don't know what you're talking about but we would be Australian if ignorant of nearly all the facts deemed essential in the government's new test for migrants :)

LDahl said...

Same as it is here in the States...you sure you haven't seen the list? I'll look for your addie and email it to you tomorrow.

these leave me breathless, especially the second and fourth. good lord, they're gorgeous.

Romeo Morningwood said...

Superb. I can almost 'see' what they're thinking.

How is the witness protection program treating you? What's the weather like in Maui?
No..Rio..
Tuvalu..
Murmansk?

tlchang said...

Lilah! I'm so glad you are alive, and sounding well. (I know all about hibernating through busy-busy jobs). These really are beautiful.

LDahl said...

Ahhh, Catnapping,*blush* Thanks!!!

HE: Thank you and in answer to your question, the weather is horrible and the food is worse!Hehehe!I could post pictures of the bomb blasted remains of the trees around here from two back to back ice storms, followed by a blizzard, but I would blow my cover and they would have to move me again...wait a minute...hummm...

Tlc, yes I know you do, and yet, you are the the person I would like to be more like!Must get my act together! Back to work now....

Great job on these, long time no visit, sorry! Great post.

LDahl said...

Hey Todd...that's ok, I haven't posted in awhile. I'll stop over and see what I've been missing at your page.

Krimo said...

Hey, glad to see you back and I hope 2008 carries on the way it has started.
Great Drawings!

LDahl said...

Hello Cream! I visited your page earlier in the week and found you were moving away...I tried to leave you a comment but it wouldn't accept my rude remarks!!!Hehehe!

studio lolo said...

Wow...I haven't stopped by in a while. These portraits are incredible. You've captured the soul of each person...I can feel it. Beautiful work!

Krimo said...

L, I doubt whether you have a rude bone in your body. heheheh!

LDahl said...

Thanks Lolo, I love your pears and ravens. Why can't I have dreams like that? Mine have gotten so abstract, even I can't make sense of them:D

Cream, if you'll recall, I called you a clown once...just because you wanted to be a clown....heheh
I have one mean elbow(the other one is quite civilized)and it can be very rude in a situation involving beautiful, expensive items at half price!!!

Thank You for the treasure my pal, your drawing skills are mellifluous and prolific! I love looking at these people!

Merisi said...

I would not be able to discern between your sketches and drawings, they all look like drawings to me, and I like all those characters!
I am quite jealous Simon gets a list. ;-)

LDahl said...

Blog_Art...thank you!

Val, you are more than welcome:)

Merisi... Simon gets all the best lists!!
:D
Miss you, hope I can get something besides dialup in the next couple of weeks... I've been so spoiled with cable... dialup is toooo slow for real blogging!

simon said...

Lilah! you MUST paint one of Merisi's photos of venice!

Merisi said...

Hi Lilah,
yes to your question on my blog (I could not find an email address on your blog: There are two posts with the same name, I guess you meant the spoof on Antoinette, with the coffee cup).
I can understand your frustration with dial-up, the friend I was staying with in Florence has one, mamma mia, poor you! I hope you do get a better connection soon. :-)
(And as far as jealous me is concerned, how could I not, seeing how some people do have your email!!!!! *grin&bear.it*)

LDahl said...

Merisi, thank you! My email is celticld (@) yahoo dot com
Hope to hear from you!!!!!!:)

I'll look and see if I still have the list.

Simon we'll have to see if Marisi will let me have a go at that picture too, OK?

Merisi said...

Hi Lilah,
I hope you had a good Easter holiday and that spring has sprung at your side of the pond!
Hugs,
Merisi

Thanks Andrea, sometimes I really like to draw. I think it is really the looking that I like.:)
Right now I'm reading a very interesting book called Designing Movie Creatures and Characters by Richard Rickett. Some of the sculptures in it are fascinating.
