Nice to see you 'oot & aboot' L
it's been a while.
I trust that the universe is unfolding, as it should.

Thanks! Been a real sicky this summer. This is the first bloggin' I've done in awhile. The Universe has been a crunchy place this summer...I don't know what was worse, the tornado we had this year or the floods we had last year! Oh well, finally seem to have recovered from all the damage and now (knock on wood) I hope(spit, spit, spit)life can go on!:)))
Thanks for stopping by!

Lilah, dear girl so nice to hear from you. Oh crap I knew about the flood but not the tornado. yes yes (spit, spit) life goes on. So tell me did you do this lovely piece on the putter? I finally got a wacom tablet and loving it.

Hi Toni! It has been a interesting 16 months. Our county was declared a federal disaster area 5 times.:))) I had a number of deaths of long term friends and acquaintances, the one that I was expecting, was the most painful loss. Throw in family crisis and other frightening events.I finally just got tired. Too full a plate for too long. Now I need to find my way back. I'm just trying to find myself in all the muddle. At least I can say I'm making some progress that way, but true to my form...I hear myself say"Hurry up!" You and I both know it really doesn't happen that way, but I wish to tidy it all away quickly.:)

The little pic was done on the computer, a scribble and bibble. Something to say I was present. I love my Wacom too. It really bothers me how much time has passed without doing artwork. I feel like my hands are missing and if I don't start working again, they will be gone forever.

Albina! Hi! I went and checked my email addies......argggggg! They are a mess too! Is there anything in my life that is not a tangled, long neglected, dust-bunnied heap of shame?!? *sigh* Evidently not!
celticld@yahoo
Send me your email addie and I'll write and send you some of my "Bunnies" to keep you company! *giggle*

Lilah! How wonderful to see you here again with this magical, glowing piece! I am so amazed that you did this digitally... wow! I'm sorry you've had so much trouble in your part of the world. I think it's about time that you have lots of good luck and sunny days - really! Please don't "disappear" again! xxx - Carla

Sweet Lilah,
you made my day, by showing up on my blog! Sooooo good to hear from you again. That little gnome is like a candle in the dark, very comforting! I read that you did this digitally, I am in awe, wow! :-)
Heartfelt wishes for only sunny days from now on,
Merisi

Thanks for visiting my blog giving me chance to discover yours. Your work is fabulous. Do you illustrate children's books? If not you should your illustrations are magic.

Hi Carla, I really have had good luck... there was a flu that swept through here that was killing young adults, my daughter cared for two health care professionals from another hospital...they both died within twenty four hours...then she got the flu. I was scared silly but she recovered quickly. Her oldest son had to have an emergency appendectomy about six weeks ago, he recovered quickly. I only lost one tree in the tornado. And right now, I don't have any stocks to speak of...So, see, lucky me:) BUT I wouldn't mind some more sunny days and luck too...it's raining now, but not like when the hurricanes came up here to die!
I just had so much this year, it seemed like every few days it was another crisis.
I'm so happy to have you here in the "Lab":)))

Hello, hello Marisi... I do most of my work digitally, I find myself thinking I should be doing more "real" painting. When I was younger I loved to paint, hated drawing, now I draw more and painting is something I need to get myself to do more.:) I'm starting to feel more like trying some stuff out again. I did buy some canvas today. Bless you, I'm sure glad to see you here too! I'm walking your streets with you more often than you know!

LDahl said...

Ro Bruhn, You are more than welcome! your work is luscious... I truly enjoyed your treasure filled blog. I hope you'll come back and hang out here in the "Lab", as there are some really awesome people and fellow artists that stop in from time to time. Thank you for your comment... made me smile.

Ldahl! So good to see you again! I was beginning to wonder... I was just thinking of you actually. After about a 2 1/2 year hiatus from anything but illustrating, I pulled out my beads and jewelry making supplies this past weekend and finished up a couple of nagging,long-term projects (deadlines be damned!) - one of which utilized the lovely piece of abalone and black pearl you sent me some time ago. I'll think of you every time I wear it.

It sounds like you have had more than your share of life 'happenings' for some time to come. Here's hoping for boring, incident-free living for the foreseeable future. One in which I hope to see more of you with a bit more frequency?

xxxTara

Tara!!!!!!!!Hello!
So happy to see you here too, awesome!
I am so pleased you will be using the black pearl. I hope it brings you good luck and a smile every time you were it. With a lot of hope and fingers tightly crossed, my plans are to be in blogland much more than I have been.
I just skimmed the surface of all that has happened since I posted last but I didn't want to seem like a pariah...I'm afraid I came off that way anyway:)))) I was beginning to wonder myself just who I pissed off! LOL
I'm so fortunate that you all haven't forgotten me.
Big Hugs to you, I'm really impressed by how much you have accomplished this last year. WOW, the amount and quality, astounding and amazing.

I missed you pal :) You are so talented and this is just so darn beautiful! I'm glad you are alright and made it through, hang in there buddy!

LDahl said...

Hi there Val! Actually this week is going so well it's scaring me! :)))
I may have survived the mayhem and will get back to something that resembles normal yet. If nothing else I've really had to reach down and make decisions about what was important to me, because I don't have the time or energy to do it all like I used to. Believe it or not, blogging with my online friends is something I've decided is a keeper. It is the gift I will give myself. The rest will straighten itself out in time I think.
Hanging in there Pal!! *snappy salute*

Mr.Simon! I'm so envious of you! Green I am, greener than your newly acquired Jeep!

yes she is a real gem! only 250 miles onthe clock..... AND 1944 makes her special, PLUS the fact she runs and does everything right!

So are you going to actually drive her, or is she just going to be stored away again?

Love this picture AND the portraits. Very lovely pencil work. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm not a tattoo fan either and will probably never design another one BUT this mother was the one exception. BTW, are you a Terry Pratchett fan? Noticed the "Wailies" in your comment and wondered if you've read Wee Free Men.

vfm4 said...

such an adorable little creature! glad to see you're working again... :-)

LDahl said...

Kim, I've read Wee free men multiple times... I love all his books except one, but WFM (all three) are real favorites. Granny Weatherwax is my favorite character. I think I'm a cross between her and Ms. Ogg:)))
So happy you stopped by, again congratulations on your new Grandson. he has the most beautiful color of hair, it matched the color of the leaf you had posted underneath. Beautiful little one.

Vfm4...hi there, how are you doing now? Hope to see more of your very interesting photo's!

Andrea to be honest, I had about given up hope too. Fingers crossed, I do hope to be around more!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!

Thank you Alina! I wish I could get as much done as you!

Magical!

It has been so many months since you last posted a piece. I like this one, especially the background. The deliberate contrast and shadows. Effectively done.

LDahl said...

Thanks Chuang!! Good to see you here again and thank you for your comment again as I know how detail oriented you are.

It has been a mean year, hasn't it? I hope you're recovering nicely [emotionally and all the other lly's]. What a wonderful [art] way to say you're still around.

LDahl said...

Yes mam it has been that. My daughter called tonight, the boys'collage fund is gone. It is so sad, all those years of scrimping and saving just gone.
We'll just keep on keepin' on, it's what we're good at:)))
