Speed Trees (another fast painting) Before the first seed broke open the rosebed of Being, An inner lark soared through your meadows, Heading towards Home. ~Bibi Hayati
Thank you Victorie and Happiest New Year to you too!
Thank you for your friendship Cream. I hope you find what you are looking for in the new year. And if you don't, my hope for you is peace and renewed spirit:) Happy New Year!
Toni, my computer crashed while I was doing this (never try to restore a brush to default while working:))) so I just whacked this out from the saved early begining without looking at the photo I was supposed to be using as a reference...... it came out looking nothing like what I started from and a great deal like a spot on the farm where I grew up. The place I liked to go and dream away an afternoon. Not a good painting, but one that made me smile none the less.....so I posted it. Your New Years wish for me makes me glad I did....so here's to the New Year and dreaming big!!:))
Thank you Laura.....if you come back here and read this, go check out the forum at: www.digitalwebbing.com They are a tough bunch, but you will find some of the best cartoonists in the business there and lots of good info. Happy New Year!
WOW! This is amazing! I can't believe--I mean I can, but WOW!--that this is a fast painting! WOW! SUPER< I love it, great lighting, super!
I trried a couple, but have only posted one (on IMAGIK). I'm totally NOT good at this. Even my many times longer than this pieces are not this good! This is great. Mary
Aynaku, thanks, but you know I don't feel like I have any sort of mastery... I did learn so much from this one... As my time was running out so fast, I noticed I really loosened up...more like scribbling:)))
Tara...It feels a bit odd to be doing these colors when it is so cold and grey, but kind of nice too.
Thanks Mary, you did yours in a car?!? Now that I couldn't handle!! :))) The learning is the important part... I did a cat that had some neat elements, but some really serious flaws...made me realize how much I need to get back to looking and drawing.
Sebastien, bless your heart!! I used just the standard Corel brushes and filters... after laying in really quick colors. then I used dodge and burn, I had trouble keeping my positive and negative spaces clean and not pushed into each other. I think I'll try my next one in photoshop to see if that makes a difference.
I am going to explore the golden fields yonder...after I have a little nap under that big inviting tree..right there in that little patch of sunlight..my eyelids are getting heavy just thinking about it...lovely.
Wilnara!!!!! I'm so happy to hear from you! Awesome! Happy New Year to you! I hope you are well and happy and we'll be hearing from you more often. I'm going to have to make a woods for all my blogging friends to hide out in and take some peaceful time off:)))(Lots of art supplies will be included:)

I'm amazed by your mastery in fast painting! Great light and rendering of the forest ...tnx also for the instructive videos.
happy new year.

Beautifully dramatic lighting. (It looks very appealing, especially in the bleak midwinter here!)

WOW! This one is great! I especially like the colors and the textures. By the way, what kind of brushes do you use?
