A little present for you.

I am sometimes fascinated by the silliest things. A few moments ago I was outside and noticed two jets in the sky. They were very close together and traveling about the same speed. I watched them with interest because they had slightly different flight paths but it was obvious that one jet was going to cross the path of the other and I wanted to see if the second jet was in fact flying a bit higher than the other. It was, but so close to the first jet that it actually caused the contrail of the first one to dissipate where it had crossed. Because of their different paths, within a moment of crossing paths, they were a quarter of a mile apart, then a half mile. As I watched the distance grow greater and greater, the thought occurred to me that when these two jets reached their final destinations they would be hundreds of miles apart, and yet for a moment they shared almost the same airspace. I thought how alike this is with what we experience as bloggers, for a moment as we cross paths we are together but very shortly we have moved into our own futures. Maybe in those few moments, something in our own lives were affected.

As you pass through here today, I would like to give you a gift to say "thank you" for all the positive affects you have had on my life in the last couple of years.
Take a moment and click on this link, I guarantee you will find at least three videos that will affect you in a positive way.
Thanks ~LDahl

I read that tickets to this event are 6000USD each, yea for the internet where we get the best for free and without having to stay in a hotel for 4 days! It would be wonderful to meet some of these people...probably all of them. The really cool thing I noticed is how very human most of them are. They have stage fright, they make mistakes and they can laugh at themselves.
I was personally excited to hear David Deutsch's talk. He is a theoretical physicist who is working on the creation of a quantum computer, but that is not the subject of his talk. Check him out.

I love that stuff. We ARE our brains and we need to know how easily we are manipulated because Ad Wizards and Politicians are working night & day to find better ways to control our behaviour.

Thanks Alina, I sure like the drawings you did this last weekend.
Really nice:)

Steve, I think it is amazing the mix of people that do the talks on TED... I listen to a few every day. There have been some that I thought wouldn't interest me, but after giving them a chance I find that the talks are much more interesting than their titles. Did you send me an Email?

I love TED. Such an amazing, thought-provoking amalgam of topics.

Why thank you Val:)It is a tiny thing , trading card size.

Tara...I found one that I'm glad I watched, but I've been upset every since I saw it. Made me sick and furious!

Pencils! Is that meant to be Gandalf? Is that done digitally?

LDahl said...

Hi Chuang! It is a tiny Gandalf sketch I did in pencil. It is a bit larger here than actual size. I was trying out some new drawing paper(which I don't like much).

What's also interesting is how I'd talk about something [at home here], I'd think of writing something, or just plain think of it without wanting to write about it...then a blogger mentions it.

Like Donn talking about ads manipulating us. This morning I was talking about discovering this *power* to manipulate when I wrote ads. And here I am, reading someone saying it.

I was once told that synchronocities were the power of the Universe made visible. Interesting thought.

Aynaku!!!! What a relief! I was getting so worried! People that go to sea and swim with sharks, should check back in when they say they are going to be back or us land lubbers start thinking the worst, pirates, massive storms, pirates, large things with larger teeth and tentacles, pirates!
:))) Glad you are ok, have a good rest, I'll look forward to seeing new work from you.
